Semester and Full Year Programs, 2026-2027 Dance Season

Classes Begin September 14, 2026

AcroDance

AcroDance is the combination of the artistic motion of dance and the athleticism of acrobatics. It is taught by certified instructors. Dancers will play games to practice exercises to build strength, flexibility, endurance, and discipline. This weekly class will train dancers in a thorough progression to gain flexibility and strength over time. Dancers will learn the fundamentals of limbering and tumbling skills and will only progress to the next level when skills have been mastered.

KinderAcro

Registration by Semester

KinderAcro is a 45-minute class, supplemental class for kindergarteners and will serve to familiarize students with what happens in an AcroDance class, build fundamental strength and flexibility, and teach basic skills. Spring Semester registration will open in December.

  • This class will not perform in the Recital.

  • No AcroDance evaluation needed to enroll in KinderAcro.

  • KinderAcro dancers do not need to be enrolled in another dance class, although it is preferred.

Tuition: $515 per Semester | No Costume Fee

Intro AcroDance

Full Year Program

Intro AcroDance is a full-year (September-May), supplemental class. In this 60-minute class, dancers will have a heavy focus on strength/conditioning, flexibility, and stamina – the fundamentals of a skilled AcroDancer. Intro Acro dancers will also aim to master the three fundamental Acro skills: a bridge, a handstand, and a cartwheel on both sides, including progressions and variations of these skills. 

  • There is an offering of Intro AcroDance for younger dancers (1st grade-4th grade) as well as for older dancers (5th grade-8th grade).

  • This class will not perform in the Recital.

Prerequisites:

  • An AcroDance evaluation is needed to enroll.

  • Dancers do not need to be enrolled in another dance class, although it is preferred.

Tuition: 2 payments of $575 | No Costume Fee

Acro Fundamentals

Full Year Program

Acro Fundamentals is a full year (September-May), supplemental class. Itbuilds on the mastery of the skills in the previous level. In this 60-minute class, students will aim to master their bridges from standing, bridge recovers, walkovers, one-hand cartwheels, pop cartwheels, and variations of these skills. This class will also have a heavy focus on strength, flexibility and stamina-building to form safe and skilled dancers and prevent injury. It will also emphasize dance technique and aesthetics in the completion of skills. Dancers will begin drills and conditioning work for side aerials in this level. 

  • This class will not perform in the Recital.

  • Dancers in Acro Fundamentals are required to be enrolled in at least one other dance class at Bethesda Dance Center. An understanding of dance technique is critical to becoming a strong and consistent AcroDancer.

Prerequisites:

  • An AcroDance evaluation is needed to enroll.

  • Dancers MUST be enrolled in a second dance class to enroll in Emerging AcroDance.

Tuition: $575 per Semester* | No Costume Fee

Intermediate AcroDance

Full Year Program

Intermediate Acro works towards a mastery of tick tocks, diving forward rolls, forearm stands, Arabian handstands and limbers in both directions, and flying cartwheels. Dancers in this 60-minute class will continue their strength and flexibility training with more time and intention. They will also deepen their focus on drills and exercises for side aerials and back handsprings. This curriculum will have a strong emphasis on dance technique and aesthetics while completing skills. 

  • Dancers in Intermediate Acro are required to be enrolled in at least one other dance class at Bethesda Dance Center. An understanding of dance technique is critical to becoming a strong and consistent AcroDancer. 

  • This class WILL perform in the Recital and will, therefore, have an attendance policy: Starting in January, dancers may not miss more than 5 classes.

  • An AcroDance evaluation is needed to enroll.

Tuition: Two payments of $600*

Costume Fee: $125

Advanced AcroDance

Full Year Program

Advanced Acro will work towards a mastery of side aerials, diving front walkovers (with preparation for a front aerial), back handsprings, sustained chest stands, tinsicas and rolling tinsicas, and contortion work. Dancers in this 60-minute class will have a heavier and more time-intensive emphasis on strength and flexibility training, a focus on dance technique and aesthetics, and an expectation of at-home work. 

  • Dancers in Advanced Acro are required to be enrolled in our Core Class Program (Elements, Foundations, Progressions, or Dynamics). The technical training from the Core Program curriculum is vital to the skills, aesthetics, and alignment studied in Advanced Acro. 

  • This class WILL perform in the Recital and will, therefore, have an attendance policy. Starting in January, dancers may not miss more than 5 classes.

  • An AcroDance evaluation is needed to enroll.

Tuition: Two payments of $600*

Costume Fee: $125
